Pada awal 1980-an saya amat minat beberapa band luar negara, dan The Police adalah yang paling saya suka kerana liriknya yang provokatif. Saya pernah menulis surat kepada pihak pengurusannya di Amerika Syarikat dan saya kemudiannya menerima sehelai tuala mandi yang ada gambar 3 pemuziknya sebagai hadiah. Namun, saya tak berkesempatan untuk menonton konsertnya kerana faktor tertentu. Jika kita dengar betul-betul, rentak muzik band ini condong kepada irama reggae atau ketika itu disebut sebagai New Wave. Cara gitar bass dimainkan Sting: Bunyinya lebih kuat dan jelas berbanding kebanyakan band lain. Petikan gitar utama Andy Summers pula kelihatan tak mementingkan chords, manakala drums pukulan Stewart Copeland - bapa dia polis lalu diletak nama band ini The Police - berbeza amat daripada muzik rock biasa kerana kedengaran pelbagai bentuk bunyi percussion. Ada banyak lagu band ini yang saya suka. Saya letak di sini sekadar 2 untuk saya dengar sekali-sekala. Tonton konsert? Zaman saya dah berlalu.
